So in essence, what is "New Media"? New media is simply put any type of media that does not require analog technologies for production. When you hear that term it could be "huh" or nodd your head and look it up on google later.
Well in more of a lay's point of view basically anything that is created digitally can largely be considered New Media. This includes games, websites, print materials that were digitally laid out. Almost any form of media you see in current use today is a form of "New Media.
This impacts us from the type of materials we read, our books, and of course TV and now other forms of digital media including the web, games and software.
Really the possibilites are endless. The New Media age has really transformed our imagination into reality and expanded the limits of what we can do expentially. I think the most exiting thing about this area is where it will go from here - think of what we'll be able to do in 5 years, 10 years and beyond.
The availability, growth and innovation in this space has caused us to change how we work about every 5 years and the changes are coming to the point soon we'll have to reevaulate our strategies every day.
